Family Roots goal is to support individuals and communities to achieve self-determined empowerment and healing using Indigenous knowledges, traditional worldview frameworks, and trauma-informed practices.
This Program Focuses On
- Encouraging families to reconnect to their Indigenous traditions and their cultural values through the process of healing.
- Assisting communities to gain the tools necessary to prevent the loss of children to suicide and to gain the tools needed to create thriving families where adults will once again parent in healthy ways.
- Help parents to realize – through motivational interviewing – that a life without substance abuse will strengthen their families and guarantee a thriving community.
- Working to reduce the impact of intergenerational trauma so that addiction and domestic violence will become a thing of the past.
