My name is Shawn Shabaquay, I am Anishinaabe and my home community is Wabigoon Lake Ojibway Nation. I graduated from the University of British Columbia with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology. While at UBC, I was the Founder and President of the Indigenous Students Association (InSA), an Editor for the Sojourners Undergraduate Journal of Sociology, and Teacher’s Assistant for SOCI 101 and 302.
Currently, I am a Senior Grant Writer for the Unique Get Together Society and a Workshop Facilitator for the Indigenous Community for Leadership and Development.
